Resource centre Debrecen SC
Debrecen supercomputer is a Silicon Graphics International (SGI) machine. It has a high performance, redundant Infiniband internal communication system and equipped with the latest Intel Xeon X5680 (Westmere EP) 6-core processor-based cluster specific architecture (SGI Altix ICE8400EX). The machine has 1536 processor cores and more than 6 terabytes of memory. It has half petabyte storage and high performance (Nvidia Quadro FX5800 based) visualization subsystem complements. The system using the most advanced, energy-efficient technologies, and water-cooled design. The machine is providing 18 teraflops of computing power. The operating system is SUSE Linux Enterprise distribution and it is equipped with all the special software tools which are needed for the High Performance Computing applications.
Parallel programming models
Supported parallel programming paradigms are MPI, OpenMP, PVM and Hybrid.
Development software
Languages C/C++ ; gcc compiler toolchain, MPI libraries, profiling and debugging tools.
Infrastructural services
User administration, authentication, authorization, security
Users can access it with SSH public key authentication
Workflow and batch management
Sun Grid Engine 6.2u5 local resource manager
Distributed filesystem and data management
There are two filesystems available to users (/home, /scratch) where /scratch is for temporary files created during job execution and it is shared beetween the worker nodes.
