Resource centre at West University of Timisoara, Romania
The HPC Center of West University of Timisoara, Romania provides access to two computing infrastructures:
- InfraGRID Cluster (http://hpc.uvt.ro/)
- 400x Intel Xeon 2.00Ghz cores - IBM BladeCenter-H Technology
- 4xQDR Infiniband interconnect delivering 40Gbps bandwidth;
- BlueGene/P Supercomputer (http://hpc.uvt.ro/)
- 1x BG/P Rack with 1024 Quad-Core PowerPC 450 at 850Mhz;
- 4TB of RAM Memeory;
- 3D Torus interconnect;
InfraGRID Cluster
Parallel programming models
Supported parallel programming paradigms are MPI, OpenMP and classic distributed computing model also known as HTC (High-Throughput Computing)
Development software
Languages C/C++ ; gcc compiler toolchain; Intel XE Compilers with optimized MPI support;
Infrastructural services
User administration, authentication, authorization, security
The main authentication and authorization method is via passwords/private keys.
Workflow and batch management
Condor-HTC version 7.4
Distributed filesystem and data management
NFS loading data from a central storage system connected to a dedicated storage server using a fiber channel protocol.
Accounting and resource management
Condor-HTC resource management and accounting system.
Operational monitoring
Operational monitoring is done by our local team using open source tools.
Helpdesk and user support
e-mail lists
Libraries and application tools
Software libraries:
gdal, fftw, hdf, hdf5, libtiff, libjpeg-turbo, OpenCV
Development application
openMP, openMPI, Intel XE MPI, pvm3, boost, MVAPICH
Access the InfraGRID Cluster
If you want to have access to the InfraGRID Cluster you have to register in the HP-SEE Resource Management System at https://portal.ipp.acad.bg:8443/hpseeportal/. For more information on using the Resource Management System consult Resource management system.
